Methodology · Job-Market Research
A source-controlled method for studying recurring skills, requirements, seniority language and work-model signals in real job descriptions.
Research questions
- Which requirements recur across the sampled postings?
- Which skills are common within a defined role and geography?
- How are required and preferred qualifications expressed?
- Which title variants describe overlapping work?
- How quickly do observed patterns change?
Method
- Collect postings with a defined role, geography, date range and source rule.
- Deduplicate substantially identical postings before counting.
- Capture the original wording and source URL/date.
- Classify requirements with a documented taxonomy.
- Report counts as properties of the sampled population, not universal labor-market facts.
Expected outputs
- Role sample
- Requirement taxonomy
- Skill-frequency table
- Title-variant map
- Freshness notes
